Setting up your account
The eleven short screens you see the first time you sign in — how the app works, your name, your look, what to track, who advises you, and where to get the apps.
The first time you sign in, Kaizendex walks you through setting up your account. It takes about a minute, you only ever see it once, and almost everything can be skipped — only the hello, the how-it-works screen and the goodbye have nothing to skip.
If you skip the lot, you still end up with three trackers ready to use. Nobody lands in an empty app.
1. Welcome
What the app is for. Nothing to fill in.
2. How Kaizendex works
Thirty seconds on the whole idea, so the rest of the screens make sense. If you have used Notion databases, you already know most of it.
- Collections are the things you track — one per kind of thing. Push-ups, Sleep, Books, Screen time. Make as many as you want.
- Properties are what you record about them. Push-ups has Reps. Sleep has hours and quality. You choose them, and you can change them later.
- You log it in the chat. Type “push ups”, pick it from the list, put in the number. Or just tell the assistant “40 push ups” and it files the entry for you.
3. What do you want to track?
Type it in your own words — running, screen time, how much water you drink, the books you finish. Anything.
We don't try to guess anything from it on the spot. It's saved for your AI assistant, which reads it the first time you talk to it.
4. Your username
This one is public. It labels you in the app and on anything you publish to the Kaizendex Library.
We fill in a suggestion from your sign-up. Change it if you'd rather be called something else — and note that you can only change it once every 30 days, so that a name somebody has linked to doesn't move under them.
5. Your photo
Pick one of the twelve preset marks, or upload your own image (PNG, JPG, WEBP or GIF, under 5 MB).
You can change it whenever you like in Settings → Profile, using the same picker.
6. Your look
Every theme Kaizendex ships with, as pictures you can click. Clicking one changes the app immediately, so the rest of the setup is already wearing your choice.
You get a light one and a dark one. Which shows depends on your device unless you pin it later in Settings → Appearance, where you can also build your own themes.
7. What should we set up?
Seven trackers, copied straight from the Kaizendex Library — so they arrive with their categories, presets and cards already in place.
| What you get | |
|---|---|
| Habits | A tick and a note per habit per day — with eleven common habits ready to go |
| Tasks | What needs doing, when it's due, and how much it matters |
| Sleep | Score the night out of ten, log the hours, note anything odd |
| Time spent | A stopwatch you can start on anything |
| Journal | A dated page per entry, nothing to fill in but the writing |
| Workouts | One card per session — presets fill in the exercises and the sets |
| Interesting content | Save the link now, find it again later |
The first three are ticked to begin with. In a hurry? Skip — you get those three.
8. Your advisor
Three AI advisors come with every account, and they have very different bedside manners:
- The Navy Seal — discipline when comfort is winning. Blunt, and never impressed early.
- Benjamin Franklin — three centuries of practical self-improvement, thirteen virtues at a time.
- Ryan Longevitus — measure everything, then improve one number at a time.
Keep the ones you want; the rest are removed. You always keep at least one.
You can also build your own with the Agent Creator — describe the coach you want and it writes them for you — and browse more in the Library. It all lives under AI → Agents.
9. Choose a plan
The tracking you just set up is free forever, on every device, with sync. That part never goes behind a paywall.
What Pro buys is the AI: an assistant that reads your own data back to you, photo and voice logging, and agents that check in on their own. Both Pro plans are the same app — the only difference is who pays the AI bill. See Plans and pricing for the full breakdown.
If you'd rather not pay
Click Continue free. One click, and that's it — no confirmation screen and no discount offer to sit through.
You'll get about 10 agent messages a month, in your account straight away, with no card. When they run out, your tracking carries on exactly as it did, and the messages come back the following month.
10. Get the apps
Kaizendex runs on your computer and your phone as well as in the browser, and everything syncs between them.
The desktop app (macOS and Windows) is the one most people never find — it's worth having, and it installs directly from us, with no app store involved. The phone apps for Android and iPhone aren't out yet, so they show as Coming soon for now. Until they land, the web app works fine in a phone browser.
These links are always available afterwards at Get the apps, and inside the app under Settings → About.
11. One last thing
Kaizendex is early software, and it's still being improved every week. Some of it is rough and some of what you want may not exist yet.
The last screen gives you the address to write to about any of that, and a link to these guides. It's a personal inbox, not a support desk, and questions are genuinely welcome.
Can I stop halfway?
Yes. Everything is saved as you go, so closing the tab and coming back later drops you on the screen you left.
Do I ever see this again?
No. It runs once per account, not once per device or per app — signing in on the desktop app, on your phone, in another browser, or after clearing your browser data takes you straight into the app.
Where does it leave me?
On your log — the chat where everything gets recorded — with your new trackers ready to use. Your Dashboard is there too, empty and waiting for the first widget you add.
